We are pleased to announce that there will now be a kid’s class in Jiu Jitsu at Combat Base Bolton. The class is every Monday, 5-6pm, £4 per child and the age starts from 5 to 12 years old. The grading system will be in line with Combat Base UK’s grading structure which can be found at www.combatsport.co.uk by clicking the Grading Requirements link.
The classes will help boost children’s fitness and confidence, improve behaviour patterns, co ordination and provide them with an hour to release their energy in a positive manner.
We look forward to seeing your children on the mats!
Starting tomorrow Wednesday, January 23rd, there will be a No Gi class, from 6-730pm. Everyone welcome to join in the fun, look forward to the first session. Ooss!

Apologies for the lack of new posts on the website, it’s still business as usual and in August the club travelled to sunny Blackpool to compete at Gus Oliveira’s BJJ competition that was held at the Tower Ballroom. This has to be the best venue for a UK competition, a massive room, plenty of seats and a bar that started serving beer at 11am A fine day of BJJ all round and I got to referee the kid’s which was great fun; a good show of medals from the team with sliver medals for Lee James and Harry Lockwood and bronze medals for Will Aston, Tim Wilson and Liam Holt.
A great result for the competition team, who competed at the Grab and Pull Manchester BJJ Open last Saturday; the event was organised by Gus Oliveira and was well attended with belts at all levels competing at the event. After an action packed day of top quality jiu jitsu, the fight team walked off with three gold, three silver and six bronze medals, a superb effort from everyone. With competitions every month of the year, the fight team is back on the mats, preparing for the next competition; anyone wishing to come down and join the club and start training, take a look on the classes section on the site, or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org for more details.
